Day 1: Fly to Lalibela – Visit of the first group of churches
Morning flight to Lalibela. Meet at the airport and drive 23 km to town for check-in and refreshment. After lunch, visit the Northern Group of churches: Bet Medhane Alem (home to the Lalibela Cross, largest monolithic church), Bete Maryam, Bete Golgotha (contains tomb of King Lalibela), Selassie Chapel, and the Tomb of Adam.
Day 2: Visit of the second group of churches
After breakfast, take a mule ride or walk to Asheton Mariam Monastery. Then visit the Western Group: Bete Giyorgis (best preserved), and the Eastern Group: Bete Amanuel, Bete Merkorios, Bete Abba Libanos, and Bete Gabriel-Rufael. Late afternoon, transfer to Lalibela airport for flight to Addis Ababa. End of tour.
3 Days Lalibela Tour
Day 1: Addis Ababa / Lalibela
Early morning flight to Lalibela. On the way to the hotel, stop at Nakute Leab Church. After check-in and lunch, hike to Asheton Maryam Monastery.
Day 2: Lalibela
Walking tour around the town to visit rock-hewn churches. In the morning, visit 6 churches, break for lunch, then continue visiting the remaining churches in the afternoon.
Day 3: Depart
Check out at 7am, transfer to the airport (about 1 hour), and fly back to Addis Ababa, arriving by midday. End of tour.
